Privacy Policy

Gravel Radar (“we”, “us”) operates the gravelradar.app website and the Gravel Radar mobile apps (together, the “Service”). This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it. It applies to both web and mobile.

1. Information we collect

  • Account data — when you sign in with Google, Apple, or Strava we receive a provider ID, your display name, and (if shared) your email address.
  • Profile data — anything you add to your profile: bio, location, riding style, bikes, FTP/weight, and preferences.
  • Strava data — if you connect Strava, we access activity and segment data you authorize to power KOM/segment features. We never share your Strava tokens.
  • Location — approximate or device location, only if you enable it, to show nearby races on the map. We do not track your location in the background.
  • Push tokens — a device push token (via Expo/APNs) if you opt in to notifications.
  • Crash & diagnostics data — anonymous crash reports, app version, and device type, used only to detect and fix bugs. We do not use behavioural or advertising analytics, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

2. How we use it

  • Provide and personalize the Service (races, maps, social rides, KOMs).
  • Send notifications you have opted into.
  • Maintain security, prevent abuse, and debug issues.
  • Understand aggregate crash trends to detect, diagnose, and fix bugs.

We do not sell your personal data.

3. Third-party services

We share data only as needed with providers that run the Service:

  • Google, Apple, Strava — authentication.
  • Strava — activity/segment data (with your authorization).
  • Vercel (hosting), Neon (database).
  • Expo / Apple Push Notification service — delivering notifications.
  • OpenStreetMap — map tiles.
  • Resend — transactional email.

4. Data retention & deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings in the app or website, which permanently removes your profile, interests, saved data, devices, and tokens. You may also email us to request deletion. Some minimal records may persist where required by law.

5. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your data (e.g. under GDPR/CCPA). Contact us to exercise these rights.

6. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

7. Changes

We may update this policy; we will revise the “Last updated” date above when we do.
